Our Program
General
- A full time load means four (4) subjects each semester – thus eight (8) subjects per year.
- Students may study part time with 1-4 subjects per semester.
- Austudy eligibility results from studying 3-4 subjects per semester.
- Each subject consists of 3 hours contact each week, over 13 weeks of class contact.
- Each semester has a two-week study break in the middle, and a one-week study break before examinations.
Subjects may be studied
- For Academic Credit – this involves the completion of essays and examinations, which results in a recognised academic award (Certificate IV, DIploma or Bachelor Degree).
- Not for Award (Personal Development) – no essays or exams but no academic award given.
- Internally at Belmont – this is preferred as students gain much from other students and in-class experiences.
- Externally via our unique DVD program – either individually or in a group (this is not a correspondence program, as external students have the same lecturers, assignments and exams as Belmont students, and thus have the same award upon graduation).
Course Costs
For more information on the cost of subjects (both On-campus and External), please see the appropriate Finance pages (available from the main menu bar above). Note these are comprehensive fees covering all normal study expenses. Occasionally a textbook will be required at the student’s expense. The comparative student will notice that Harvest West’s program is the most affordable in W.A.
